Secrets, Lies, and a Mysterious Old Tin…

Ever wondered what dark and distant secrets lurk in your family’s past?

9 times out of 10 we find that a client’s family tree is never quite as it seems, and it’s only after we’ve scratched the surface of their history when the truth is finally revealed for the very first time.

“I had no idea I was about to open my very own Pandora’s Box,” said one of our clients, after we revealed to him an entire history that he never even knew existed.

So fascinating were the discoveries that Ancestry by Heir Line has spent the past couple of years weaving the intricate tales from the research into a fascinating novel, set across two continents and spanning 150 years.

Slavery, racism, kidnap, murder, rape, shipwrecks, adventure, unrequited love, justice, injustice, two World Wars and terrible sorrow await those brave enough to open the tin…

We always want to look for the good stories in our Family History. Unfortunately, the bad stories are harder to trace as our ancestors usually tried to hide them. It is frustrating to try and fill in some of the time gaps when this happens.

  2. Wonderful idea for a bog, book, and job. My hat is off to you. Best of luck

  3. That’s such a great way to approach writing a novel! We had a number of odd items passed down our family line that are still a mystery as to what they were or why they were thought important! Nobody knows any more. By the way, thanks for visiting my blog and liking it!

Thanks for your comment :-) The novel is in with a literary agent at the moment so we are feeling rather nervous! Good luck working out what your mysterious items are… if you ever need a helping hand, we’ll do our best to help :-)

A very interesting site and I’ll tell my father about it, as he’s been researching our family tree. He’s become totally hooked on the process and it’s been the making of him since my mum passed away. Thanks for visiting Living in Rural Mallorca!
